2025 JUBILEE PILGRIMAGE SITES AND CELEBRATIONS
The Jubilee of 2025 is an invitation to set out on a pilgrimage of hope.
A pilgrimage involves undertaking a journey to a holy place. Along this journey the pilgrim not only changes their location but is also changed within. The whole Christian life, in fact, can be seen as a pilgrimage of conversion as we proceed toward the goal of eternal life in Christ Jesus. While Pope Francis designated Jubilee pilgrimage sites in Rome and other places throughout the world, he also invited local bishops, in addition to the local Cathedral, to designate pilgrimage sites for their own dioceses. Three such sites have been designated in the Archdiocese of St. John’s and a date for a special celebration at each of these sites has been organized. Information regarding the pilgrimage is available in a pamphlet at the entrance, digital version, and
on the Archdiocesan website www.rcsj.org .
NEW PROCESSIONAL CROSS
Thanks to a generous donation, we have been able to purchase a new crucifix for our processional cross. This crucifix was chosen to blend with the other items that adorn the altar. The four medallions around the cross depict the four Gospel writers (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).
The Crucifix was donated by the members of the Kelly family in loving memory of
Gerry and Angela Kelly.
Thank you all for your continued support of our parish.
FAREWELL TO LOU
Sunday, June 29th will mark the last Sunday that we will have Lou in the parish, as he prepares to depart for formation with the Franciscans.
If you wish to leave a card, gift, or other token of support and encouragement for Lou, that would be your last opportunity.
At Lou’s request you may also leave your prayer intentions that you would like for him to keep in his prayers.
ARE YOU, OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW, INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC?
If so, please contact the Parish Office or speak with Fr. Fleming. If there is sufficient interest, we will begin a program for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) at St. Edward’s Parish in the Fall. RCIA is a program of formation for adults who wish to be baptized into the Catholic Church or received into the Church from another Christian denomination. The program will involve a weekly meeting and run from approximately September–early April. This program will also be open to adults who were baptized Catholic but never received Confirmation.
St. Edward's Parish Lending Library
Located in the “Quiet Room” with instructions for use in the Room. If you wish to contribute to the library, please speak with the Pastor.
Electronic Fund Transfer
are once again being accepted by the parish, though automatic deposit is not yet available – donations can be emailed to
