2025 JUBILEE PILGRIMAGE SITES AND CELEBRATIONS
The Jubilee of 2025 is an invitation to set out on a pilgrimage of hope.
A pilgrimage involves undertaking a journey to a holy place. Along this journey the pilgrim not only changes their location but is also changed within. The whole Christian life, in fact, can be seen as a pilgrimage of conversion as we proceed toward the goal of eternal life in Christ Jesus. While Pope Francis designated Jubilee pilgrimage sites in Rome and other places throughout the world, he also invited local bishops, in addition to the local Cathedral, to designate pilgrimage sites for their own dioceses. Three such sites have been designated in the Archdiocese of St. John’s and a date for a special celebration at each of these sites has been organized. Information regarding the pilgrimage is available in a pamphlet at the entrance, digital version, and
on the Archdiocesan website www.rcsj.org .

A LETTER FROM LOU
Dear Parishioners of St. Edward’s Parish,
May God give you His peace!
The day has come for my departure! I heard from our lawyers on Monday that they were sending my papers that day, and I received it on Wednesday. After consulting with my superiors, they thought it best that I arrive in Chicago today, Saturday July 12th. I’m currently on route! I just wanted to send a note so you aren’t wondering why Lou isn’t there this weekend. Sorry that I was not able to say one last farewell, but God-willing I will visit sooner than later. Please spread the word of my departure.
Thank you for all your care and kindness toward me these past three years. It has been a joy to be at our parish. Rest assured of my continued prayers for all of you.
Oh - and if you want to keep up with our adventures, one of my brother postulants will be updating our page “Conventual Franciscans Postulancy USA” on Facebook periodically.
God bless,
Lou
ARE YOU, OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW, INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC?
If so, please contact the Parish Office or speak with Fr. Fleming. If there is sufficient interest, we will begin a program for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) at St. Edward’s Parish in the Fall. RCIA is a program of formation for adults who wish to be baptized into the Catholic Church or received into the Church from another Christian denomination. The program will involve a weekly meeting and run from approximately September–early April. This program will also be open to adults who were baptized Catholic but never received Confirmation.
PARKING AT ST. THOMAS OF VILLANOVA CEMETERY MASS
Town of CBS has installed a sidewalk along Topsail Road in front of the cemetery. Please be advised that this will significantly reduce parking in the area and that parking within the cemetery is very limited.
