Home Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Prayer Service
Enthronement of an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was a traditional practice of many Catholic homes in Newfoundland and throughout the world. Enthronement is a public, prayerful declaration that Jesus Christ is the King of our family and our home. It helps transform the home into a "domestic church."
The Knights of Columbus and the Legion of Mary are working together to make this devotion available to our parish community. On July 11th and 12th enthronement kits (including an image of the Sacred Heart and prayers) will be available along with a sign-up opportunity if you would like assistance with your enthronement from the Knights of Columbus/Legion of Mary. You may also ask Fr. Fleming to come and lead if he is available.
Following the Sunday Mass on July 12th there will be a brief prayer service of devotion to the Sacred Heart with an image that has been provided by the Knights of Columbus.

THE GATHERING PLACE - Request

A drive to collect Ladies and Gentleman’s undergarments will be held for two weekends only, July 4th & 5th, 11th & 12th. All sizes gratefully accepted.

This is a project by Blessed Trinity Knights of Columbus.

Rite of Admission to Candidacy for Evan Chafe, Sunday July 26th

At the 10:30am Mass, Evan Chafe will be admitted to

Candidacy by Archbishop Hundt at St. Edward’s Parish.
The Rite of Admission to Candidacy is a simple ceremony where a man aspiring to the priesthood, having had several years of discernment and seminary formation, publicly states his intention to receive the sacrament of Holy Orders. The Bishop, in turn, recognizing the necessary qualifications and maturity of the aspirant, formally accepts him as an official candidate for Holy Orders. The Bishop will bless Evan and we will pray for Evan as he continues his formation toward ordination for the Archdiocese of St. John’s.
A parish social will follow in the Parish hall and all are welcome.

PRE-AUTHORIZED GIVING (PAG)

Pre-authorized Giving assists parishioners in making their regular parish offerings. Offerings will be withdrawn from the bank account on the 15th & 30th of the month. This can simplify your giving and ensure that support of your parish continues when you are away, ensuring regular and dependable contributions.

To sign up for PAG to St. Edward’s Parish, please complete the form available at the entrance of the church, place it in a sealed envelope with a void cheque, and drop into the collection or bring to the Parish Office. Personal information will be kept confidential and secure. For inquiries, please contact Jennifer at the Parish Office.
