OCTOBER IS MISSIONARY MONTH
This is a time we are asked to pray in a special way for all missionaries around the world, who are striving to make Jesus known.
OFFICE CLOSED MONDAY
The parish office will be closed Monday, October 13th in observance of Thanksgiving Day, it will reopen 8:30am Tuesday, October 14th.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY – October 19th
This is a worldwide celebration of and collection for the Missionary Church. This year’s theme is “Missionaries of Hope among all Peoples”. The funds raised go to support rural health clinics, renovate chapels and rectories, build new churches and provide for the daily needs of missionaries and catechists. Please pray for all missionaries and donate generously on Mission Sunday.
NEWS FROM THE CCCB
Last year the CCCB released a Pastoral Letter on Family Catechesis. A copy of this letter can be found on our Archdiocesan website (www.rcsj.org) and over the next four weeks we will be highlighting a series of video reflections on this document.
Pope Leo signed his first Apostolic Exhortation Dilexi te on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, October 4, 2025. It is scheduled to be released at the Vatican's Press Office on October 9. A copy of this can be found on our Archdiocesan website: www.rcsj.org
CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE FOOD DRIVE
St. Thomas of Villanova CWL will be collecting food for the CBS/Paradise Community Food Bank. Any food items will be greatly appreciated and can be dropped off in the box located at the entrance of the church beginning September 27th to October 19th. Thanks in advance.

TWO DAY RETREAT WITH FR. MARK CHERRY OF SACRED HEART EVANGELIZATION & HEALING MINISTRY - THEME – THY KINGDOM COME.

33 DAYS TO MORNING GLORY RETREAT
St. Edward’s Parish is offering Stage One of the Hearts Afire Program, 33 Days to Morning Glory retreat beginning Saturday, November 1, to December 6, 2025. The group will meet once per week on Saturday from 10:30am to 12:00 noon. This is a parish-based program from the Marion Fathers of the Immaculate Conception that will include readings, a video, and group discussion. 33 Days to Morning Glory prepares for consecration to Jesus through Mary, and the Consecration will take place on Dec. 8th the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

ST. EDWARD’S PARISH FALL FAIR
Sunday, November 16th, 1:30 to 5:00 pm at St. Edward's Parish Hall.
Many Events: Goods Spin Wheel, Crafts, Baked Goods, Cake Auction, Bottle Table, Children's Games of Chance, Cake Walk, Ladies Purse and Jewelry table, 50/50 Tickets and Canteen.
There will be a Door Prize.
Donations needed for the Goods Spin Wheel -value $20 to $25. Cakes for the Cake Auction and Cake Walk. Bottles for the Bottle Table.
Volunteers are needed to help with booths and events. Please add your name to the volunteer list available at weekend Masses.

ARE YOU, OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW, INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC?
If so, please contact the Parish Office or speak with Fr. Fleming. We will begin a program for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) at St. Edward’s Parish this Fall. RCIA is a program of formation for adults who wish to be baptized into the Catholic Church or received into the Church from another Christian denomination. The program will involve a weekly meeting and run from approximately October–early April. This program will also be open to adults who were baptized Catholic but never received Confirmation.
