Information on “Planned Charitable Giving”, February 11th 7pm
More than ever, parishioners are needed to help ensure that our parishes continue to thrive for generations to come.
Edward Martin of Caritatis Wealth Management will be hosting a presentation for
St. Edward Parish, Tuesday, February 11th at 7pm in the Parish Hall.
Ed will help us understand how you don’t have to be a millionaire to make a difference. This will include valuable insights on planned charitable giving and ways to maximize tax benefits. Please come join us for this informative presentation on how anyone can leave a financial legacy to St. Edward’ Parish.
Please RSVP to the parish office (709 834-9481 or stedwardsparish@rcsj.org) so we can plan accordingly for seating.

ALPHA PROGRAM OF FAITH FORMATION
St. Edward’s Parish is exploring the possibility of offering the
Alpha Program of Faith Formation.
Website: alphacanada.org/catholic-context/
A popular 11 week series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of Christian faith in a relaxed, open environment, it is perfect for anyone curious about life, God, and Jesus, regardless of their background or beliefs. It would also be open to non-parishioners.
For one evening a week participants gather for a meal, a video, small group discussions, and some social time in a safe space. The Alpha Program has proven its effectiveness over the last 50 years. It does, however, require a significant number of leaders, who will be trained in how to offer the Program. We would like to gauge your interest in involvement either as a leader, or participant. If you would like to be involved please contact the office at stedwardsparish@rcsj.org, phone (709) 834-9481, or email – Tony Tilley - tonytilley865@gmail.com.

SPECIAL SEMINARIAN STUDIES COLLECTION: February 14th & 15th
We are blessed to have Evan Chafe studying for the priesthood at St. Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto, and to have several other men seeking to discern whether God may be calling them to a priestly vocation. The annual academic costs paid by the Archdiocese for each seminarian studying in a seminary is in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00). To assist in covering seminary education costs, a special “Seminarian Studies Collection” is being taken up in all the parishes of the Archdiocese on the weekend of February 14th – 15th. Envelopes marked “Seminarian Studies Collection” will be distributed to each parish for use in this collection. Donations can also be made online at www.rcsj.org (click on the “donate” header and in completing the donation form, indicate that your donation is to “Seminarian Studies”). Your financial assistance in paying the costs of preparing men for the priesthood in our Archdiocese is greatly appreciated.
St. Edward's Parish Lending Library

It will reopen Monday, Feb. 9th @ 8:30am.
2026 Collection Envelopes and Tax Receipts
The Collection envelopes for 2026, and Tax Receipts for 2025 are available near the entrance to the church.
If you haven’t been using envelopes but wish to do so, please take a box with NO NAME on it. Include your name & contact information on your envelope for the first few weeks of 2026.
PRE-AUTHORIZED GIVING (PAG)
Pre-authorized Giving assists parishioners in making their regular parish offerings (this does not include special collections). Offerings will be withdrawn from your bank account on the 15th & 30th of the month (or next business day). This can simplify your giving and ensure that support of your parish continues when you are away, ensuring regular and dependable contributions.
To sign up for PAG to St. Edward’s Parish, please complete the form available at the entrance of the church, place it in a sealed envelope with a void cheque, and drop into the collection or bring to the Parish Office. Personal information will be kept confidential and secure. For inquiries, please contact Jennifer at the Parish Office.
