2025 Chrism Mass
An Archdiocesan Jubilee Year Celebration of Ordained Priesthood The Mass of Chrism is one of the most solemn and important diocesan celebrations of the liturgical year. The Mass takes its name from the blessing of the Holy Oils used in the sacraments, which are blessed at this Mass and then given to the priests to take back to their parishes. The Chrism Mass is a celebration of the institution of the ministerial priesthood and is a sign of the unity and communion of the Priests with their Bishop. In this Jubilee Year, it is also an excellent occasion on which to celebrate the gift of the Ordained Priesthood and the ministry of the Priests of the Archdiocese. The 2025 Chrism Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Tuesday April 8th at 7:00 p.m. All are invited to come and join in this Jubilee Year celebration of the gift of the Ordained Priesthood. For those unable to attend, the Mass will be live streamed at www.thebasilica.net
PASSION NARRATIVE WITH MUSIC
Come join us on Sunday, April 13th – 7:30PM in the church for the choir‘s presentation of The Passion. This dramatic presentation depicts the trial, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and is rooted in the central traditions of Christianity. A goodwill offering will be collected for the local food bank.
Stations of the Cross
Each Friday during Lent, the stations of the Cross will be prayed in the church following the 7pm Mass.
EASTER FLOWERS
Please help us beautify our Church for the Easter Season by making a financial donation. Envelopes are available at the entrance to the church. Thank you in advance for your generous contributions.
HOLY THURSDAY, WASHING OF THE FEET:
We invite Parishioners to Participate. At the Last Supper, Jesus displayed his humility and love by washing the feet of His 12 Apostles. We re-enact this expression of charity in the Mass for Holy Thursday, April 17th. The Liturgy Committee is asking parishioners interested in participating in this rite to please contact Pat Burton via e-mail at burtonpatpb@gmail.com or by phone at 709-782-0055.
COLLECTION COUNTER REQUIRED
If you have some time on your hands and would like to help with the collection counting, please contact the parish office. We are one short for a team. You would be required to count the collection every 3 months, one morning a week for a month. Please give this some consideration. Thank you.
